William Plummer Black
June 17, 1878 - June 24, 1954


W. Plummer Black, aged 76, of R.D. #7 Mahoningtown, died unexpectedly at 4:15 a.m. today of a heart attack. Born in Bruin, PA, June 17, 1878, he was a son of the late James and Jemimah Kelly Black. He had resided in the district for the past 40 years. Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Erwin Black, two daughters, Mary Black, at home, Mrs. Emma Lodwick, North Lima, Ohio, three sons, Harry C. Black, Samuel J. Black and Lawrence Black, all of R.D. #7 Mahoningtown, eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were two sons, George and James; two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Smith and Mrs. Ida Clay and a brother, Arthur. Private funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bessemer. Friends may call at the funeral at any time.
