Edwin Ayres, 61 of 517 Waldo St. died in the New Castle Hospital today at 2:30 a.m. after an illness.

Born in New Castle on July 11, 1900, he was a son of the late John Joseph and Elizabeth Ann Owen Ayres.For the last 25 years he has been the husband of the former Sarah Hetrick who survives him and was a machinist with the Baltimore and Ohio railroad.

He was a member of the local Mechinist Union.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons; Morris E. Ayres and Robert L. Ayres both of home.;two brothers; William ayres of New Castle and Francis Ayres of Santa Anna, Calif.; two sisters; Mary Elizabeth Ayres and Mrs Roy (Bertha May) Donston, La Mirada, Calif.

The body is at the Edward A. DeCarbo Funeral Home. S Mill at E. Lutton streets, where friends will be received today 7-9p.m. an Wednesday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the funeral home with Rev. Canon Ralph E. Hovencamp of Trinity Episcopal Church to officiate.

Interment will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
