E. Lester Anderson, 80, of Pompano Beach, Fla.. formerly of New Castle, died at 11:15 pm on March 24, 1989, at his residence.

He was born in New Castle on October 9, 1908, to Adam and Elizabeth Tanner Anderson. His wife, the former Audrey Leicht, whom he married on August 8, 1929, survives.

Before moving to Florida in 1955, Mr. Anderson owned and operated the Anderson Excavation Co. in New Castle. He also worked as an operating engineer in various states. He belonged to Moravian Church, Boca Raton, Fla. He was a 32nd degree Mason.

Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. James (Audrey) Bluedorn of New Castle, and Mrs. James (Caroline) Hilton of Spartansburg, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, Keith and Aaron.
