Mrs. Isabella Allen, for many years a resident of this city, passed away at the home of her son, George Allen, of near Leesburg. She was 89 years of age, and was the widow of James B. Allen, whose death occurred 19 years ago.

Mrs. Allen was a member of the Epworth Methodist Church while she resided in New Castle, having been a Methodist since her girlhood. She was well prepared for the great transition when the summons came and had long looked forward to the time she could join her husband on the other shore.

She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Lucy Hoon, of New Castle; Mrs. Margaret Lewis, of Mercer; John L. Allen, of Freeport, Pa.; James H. Allen, of Oregon; and George R. Allen, at whose home she died. Dissolution was caused by the infirmities of advanced age.

Her maiden name was Isabella Leslie, and she was a daughter of Francis Leslie, a pioneer resident of this county. Two sisters and three children had passed into the great beyond before her. The interment took place at Portersville.
