January 30, 1775 Proprieteries of Pennsylvania sold "Greenbanks" to
Abraham Regual; on February 13, 1779 sold to Jacob Richer;
November 26, 1795, sold to John & Molly Richer;
April 11, 1804, sold to Martin Nissley, Sr. & Elizabeth, from Lancaster;
June 13, 1825 sold to son Samuel Nissley, who in 1846 built the Mansion;
after his death to Martin 'Big Mart' Nissley;
then to son-in-law Adam Shope (owner of record in 1896)

To the rear of the Nissley Mansion (farmhouse), on a gentle elevation
enclosed by a neat paling fence, whitewashed very nicely, is the
"God's Acre" where rest the bodies of several families who have lived
here for a century or more. The following inscriptions (E.W.S. Parthemore):

Egle's Notes and Queries of Pennsylvania, 1700s-1800s
William Henry Egle was the State Librarian of Pennsylvania for twelve
years. In a "Report of the State Librarian for the Year 1901," shortly
after his death, his "Notes and Queries" was said to be "beyond all
others the most important publication relating to the Scotch-Irish in
America." And in the preface to the early reprint series it was noted
that "no contributions to any newspaper in the country have been so
appreciated or more often referred to."
