Cameron County, Pennsylvania Genealogy Project
A project of the Pennsylvania USGenWeb
I have been interested in genealogy for the past ten years and recently saw the
"Adopt Me" notice on the PAGenWeb page (initially Elk County that is)which I have used a
lot in my family research. Without any knowledge of web site design, I decided
to give it a try and share back to those that are also looking for their roots.
And after an intense 4 weeks of learning about HTML and other web jargon,
I launched (with specifically help from the Clearfield county coordinator Ellis Michaels)
the new Elk County genealogy website. And now due to other circumstances I've
volunteered to also be the Cameron County coordinator of which I also have relatives
from Gibson Township/ Hicks Run which used to be part of Elk County. So here I am
introducing this new PAGenWeb Cameron County Genealogy Project. And requesting
your assistance and support to make this site useful to you and others.
And for me living in Florida I need your help a lot. During the process of
putting this site together I've learned a lot, and have become very interested
in Cameron County. A part of my thoughts is to share what I learn about
Cameron County both in the past and currently. I hope you will share likewise.
While I am not a professional genealogy researcher and can't promise to
help you in your family research, I will try to keep this site updated with
information and resources that I hope you find interesting and helpful.
Personally I am always researching the Winslow, Hicks, Burke, Ovell and
related families within Jay and Benezette townships of Elk County and Gibson township
in Cameron County- if I can help you with these families I will do my best to
help you. If interested you may want to check out
