Know all men by these Presents that I James Patterson of Loudon County and State of Virginia, farmer placing special trust and confidence in Robert Patterson of East Pennsborough Township Cumberland County and State of Pennsylvania, farmer. I do hereby constitute and appoint him my lawfull attorney and agent to sell and convey all my undivided fifth right true interest and claim of a certain plantation and tract of land situate in Exeter Township and County of Berks and State of Pennsylvania and likewise divided fifth part of the personal property horses cows etc it being willed to me by my father Robert Patterson bearing date the 5th day of May one thousand seven hundred and seventy six for testimony whereof I have here unto my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of December 1787.

Sealed and delivered in the presence of George Lutz Jacob Fager Berks County on the 9th Day of December 1789 formally appeared before me John Otts one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County George Lutz who on oath saith that he saw James Patterson Sine Seal and Deliver the within instrument of writing and acknowledge the same to be his act and deed, he likewise saw Jacob Fager sine the same as an evidence and he likewise sined the same as an evidence himself and acknowledged the same to be his own hand writing as witness his hand the Day and Year above written George Lutz sworn & subscribed the date above
