Last Will and Testament of William Schmeck

In the name of God Amen, I William Schmeck of the city of Reading, County of Berks and State of Pennsylvania being in perfect health and of sound mind, memory and understanding but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, to wit

First it is my will and I do order my herein after named Executor that my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my decease.

Second I give devise and bequeath to my wife the interest and income of all my Real and personal Estate so long she remain my Widow. In case she should marry again then my Real and personal Estate shall immediately divided among my children and grandchildren.

Third I give devise and bequeath to my granddaughters namely Mary and Rose each fifty dollars when they attain the age of twenty one years. In case any one would not (or sived?) the age of twenty one years then the share or shares shall be equally divided among my two children namely Albert and Cassy.

Fourth I give devise and bequeath to my son Albert and daughter Cassy the remainder of my Real and personal Estate in equal shares.

Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my wife & my son Albert and Amos Schmehl to be the Executors of this my Will herby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made, and declaiming this last will and Testament.

In Witness where of I have hereunto to set my hand and seal the ___ day of October one thousand eight hundred and sixty six.
