Last will and Testament of William D. Miller

In the name of God Amen, I William D. Miller of upper Tulpehocken Township, County of Berks and state of Pennsylvania, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make declare and publish this my last will and testament, thereby revoking all former wills by heretofore made.

First I do order and direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfyed, as soon as conveniently can be after my decease.

Item. I give devise and bequeath Ten Dollars to my grant Children of my daghter Susana Strouse deceased late the wife of Samuel Strouse and to her heirs and assigns for ever.

Item All the rest, Residue, and remainder of my estate, real personal and mixed, whatsoever and wheresoever, I do order and direct to be converted into money as soon as the same can conveniently be don after my decease, and for that purpose I do herby authorize and empower my executors hereinafter named or the survivor of them, to sell at public sale all my real and personal estate, And for that purpose do hereby authorize and empower my said Executors or the survivor of them, to sign, seal, execute, and acknowledge all such deed or deeds of conveyance, as may be requisite and necessary for the granting and assuring the same to the purchaser or purchasers thereof in fee simple.

Item And when the whole of my said residuary estate shall be converted into money as aforesaid, then I will and direct that the same shall be divided into six equal parts or shares, which I give devise and bequeath as follows to wit,

one full equal sixth part or share whereof I give bequeath and devise unto my Son William S Miller and to his heirs and assigns for ever,

one full equal sixth part or share whereof I give bequeath and devise unto my daughter Maria Hiester, intermarried with Joseph Hiester and to her heirs and assigns for ever,

one full equal sixth part or share whereof I give devise and bequeath unto my two grand Children Villara Strouse and Catharine Strouse, Children of my daughter Elizabeth Strouse deceased, she being intermarried with Daniel Strouse, and to their heirs and assigns for ever,

one full equal equal sixth part or share whereof I give devise and bequeath unto my grand son Ceranus Miller and heir of my late son Daniel Miller deceased and to his heirs and assigns for ever,

one full equal sixth part or share whereof I give devise and bequeath unto my son Charles Miller and to his heirs and assigns for ever,

one full equal sixth part or share whereof I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Catharine Lefler intermarried with William Lefler and to her heirs and assigns for ever.

Item I advanced one hundred dollars to my son William S Miller in my lifetime of which he shall be charged with after my decease without interest and deducted from his share of inheridence which will be coming to him.

Item It is my express will and I do order that John D Keener who was intermarried with my Daughter Lovina deceased and left no issue, and Israel Snyder who was intermarried with my Daughter Sarah deceased and also left no issue and therefore the said John D Keener and Israel Snyder are not included in this my will are not to have any portion or share out of my said estate real or personal and are entirely debarred. And Lastly I nominate and appoint my son William S Miller and my son in law Joseph Hiester Executors of this my last Will and Testament,

In witness whereof I the said William D Miller the testator have to these presents, set my hand and seal and hereby publish the foregoing as my last will and Testament, dated the First day of April A.D. one thousand eight hundred and eight two.
