Last Will and Testament of Magdalena Bickel

In the name of God, Amen-

I Magdalena Bickel, widow and relict of Anthony Bickel, late of Heidelberg township in the county of Berks dec. being considerably advanced in age and knowing the uncertainty of human life, but being of sound and disposing mind and perfect memory, and being desired of disposing of such property as may remain after my decease, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, disposing of my property as follows, to witness.

First, it is my Will that my here in after named Executor shall make it his particular duty to have my body buried after my decease in a descent and Christian Manor suitable to my condition and circumstances in life, and shall then in the first placed satisfy, pay and discharge all the funeral expenses out of the first money that may come to his hands-

Secondly, it is my Will that after the funeral expenses and debts, if there shall be any, are all discharged and fully satisfied, the remainder of my estate, whither consisting of real or personal property shall be divided in equal shares among my following named children, to witness--my sons Anthony Bickel, Jonathan Bickel and Daniel Bickel, and my daughter Elizabeth married to Martian Lengle and my daughter Magdalena married to Henry Troutman---and it is further my Will and perfect intention that my son Joseph Bickel shall receive no part or parcel of my estate after my decease, he having been amply provided for by my late husband---

Thirdly, it is my Will that my two daughters above named shall have all my apparel and clothing over and above an equal share as before bequeathed.

Fourth, it is my Will that my five above and first named children shall divide such of my personal property as they may wish equally with out a sale, and whatever may be left after such division, my executor shall sell with as little delay as possible and divide above stated in equal shares among my five first named children.

Lastly, I do hereby appoint my son Anthony(crossed out and added) Jonathan Bickel the only and sole executor of this my last Will and Testament. In witness where of I have here unto set my hand and seal this twenty first day of July one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine (1829) Probated in 1831.
