Last Will and Testament of Leonard Messersmith

April the 14th 1818 I the subscriber make my Will in Ruscombmanor Township Berks County and make it so that my wife Elizabeth Messersmith shall have all what belongs to me so long as she liveth in case she not marry again. When she marries again then she shall have only her Bed, and after decease shall everything among my children in equal shares be divided but Catharine Messerschmidt shall have twenty pounds in advance and Maricha Messersmith shall have twenty pounds in advance, I say that that is my last Will and Testament and acknowledge it with my own hand and seal.

Registers Office Reading, Berks County August 1st 1818 there appeared George Heckman and Samuel Gilbert Witnesses to the afore written Will, who were duly qualified according to Law did Declare and say; That they were present and did see and hear, Leonard Messersmith the testator sign, publish pronounce and declare the said writing as and for his last Will and Testament: And at the time of the doing thereof, he the said Testator was of sound mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and as they verify and believe.
