Last Will and Testament of Johannes Albrecht

Note: The original will is written in German. It is in the Office of the Register of Wills, Berks County. The following is a translation.

In God's Name Amen.

I, Johannes Albrecht, in Ruscombmanor Township Berks County in the State of Pennsylvania, shall declare in force what is to be within made known which is my Last Will and Testament. Firstly, I give and bequeath to my housewife Justina one child's share like, namely, my son George and son Daniel and my daughters, namely, Maria and Margretha and Catharina and Elisabetha and Susanna. Along with my housewife (landlady?) Justina they shall divide equally all of my estate, but to my deceased daughter Susanna's 3 children her share shall come to them, it shall also be divided equally to the three aforementioned children. Furthermore, I bequeath to my son Johannes and my son Jacob five shillings each for an inheritance and not more. Furthermore, I order that after my death my household furniture and all goods shall be sold at public vendue. Furthermore, I, Johannes Albrecht appoint, namely, Jacob Eisenhauer and Peter Wanner for my executors to put in order the aforementioned above affairs. I declare the aforementioned my last will and testament testified to with my own hand and seal, the 13 day of November 1813.

This 30th day of May A.D. 1816 before me Jacob Schneider, Reg'r. for the probate of wills and granting letters of Administration in and for Berks County personally came Andrew Vegele and Peter Wanner, the subscribing witness to the above will, who after they were duly qualified thereto by the oath of the said Wanner and solemn affirmation of the said Vegele according to law do depose and say that they were present and saw and heard John Albright the testator, sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the above instrument of writing as and for his last will and testament, and that at the time of so doing he was of sound mind, memory, and understanding to the best of their knowledge, observation and belief.
