Last Will and Testament of Israel Schmeck

In the name of God Amen:

I Israel Schmeck of the Township of Muhlenberg in the County of Berks, and State of Pennsylvania, do make this my last will and testament as follows to wit:

  1. I direct that my hereafter named executor shall pay all my just debts, funeral expenses and a sufficient amount for a tombstone to be erected on my grave.
  2. I give, devise and bequeath all the rest and residue of my estate, real, personal, and mixed of whatsoever kind the same may be unto Jacob Borrel, my brother-in-law, his heirs and assigns forever. Said bequest being for and in consideration of the kind of support and treatment I received from the hands of the family of the said Jacob Borrel.
  3. Lastly, I nominate, constitute and appoint the said Jacob Borrel, my executor of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 23rd day of March A.D. 1889.

On the 9th day of April A.D. 1889 Before me personally appeared Israel Rothermel and William Endy, the subscribing witnesses to the forgoing will and testament and codicil, who being duly sworn according to law did depose and say that they were present and did see and hear Israel Schmeck testator sign, seal, publish and declare the forgoing instrument of writing as and for his last will and at the time so doing he was in sound mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief.
