Last Will and Testament of Henry Schmeck

In the name of God, amen, I Henry Schmeck of Ruscombmanor Township, Berks County in the State of Pennsylvania, farmer, being weak in body, but of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament, in manner and form following to wit:

First: It is my will and I do so order, that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfied, as soon as conveniently can be, after my decease.

Item: I give and devise unto my son Franklin Schmeck my farm or plantation situate in Alsace Township County and State aforesaid bounded by land of Daniel Gotshall, Gotfried Lutz, Nathan Haas, and others containing one hundred and ninety two acres more or less together with two other adjoining tracts of land one of them containing twenty one acres and ninety perches, and the other four acres and fifty five perches, and to his heirs and assigns for ever, he or they paying there out to my herein after named executors, the sum of twelve thousand dollars, to be distributed to and among my heirs hereinafter named.

And, a covering all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, real and personal, of what kind or nature whatsoever the same may be, in the County of Berks aforesaid or elsewhere, together with the twelve thousand dollars to be paid out by my son Franklin Schmeck, I give and bequeath the same, as follows, one eighth part to my son John, one eighth part thereof to the children of my deceased daughter Susanna, one eighth part thereof to my daughter Rebecca, the wife of Nathan Haas, one eighth part there of to my daughter Catharine, the wife of Jacob Gauby, one eighth part thereof to my daughter Mary, the wife of Benneville Balser, one eighth part thereof to my daughter Amelia, the wife of Charles Weaver M.D., one eighth part thereof to my son Henry and one eighth part thereof to the children of my deceased son Valentine, and to the heirs and assigns forever, my two sons Washington & Franklin having received their full portion in my life time, in the real estate sold and devised to them they are therefore excluded from any share or distribution of the residue of my estate.

And lastly, I nominate, constitute and appoint my son Washington Schmeck to be Executor of this my Will, hereby revoking and making void all other, legacies and bequests, by me heretofore made, and declaring this and no other to be my last will and testament.
