Last Will and Testament of Henry Moll

In the name of God Amen, I Henry Moll of Perry Township, Berks County and State of Pennsylvania, yeoman, being in good health of body and of sound disposing mind, memory and understanding, yet far advanced in life, and therefore considering that my time for this world can be brief, do make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, in manner and form following to wit:

It is my will and I do hereby order and direct that all my just debts (if there should be any at the time of my decease) and funeral expense be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be at my decease.

Item, it is my will that my personal property of every description shall be appraised by two respectable citizens chosen by my Executor hereinafter named, and the saleable articles sold at public vendue for the best price that can be got, by my Executor, and proceeds there of to be distributed as herein after mentioned.

Item, it is my will and I do order and direct that all my land situate in Perry Township, Berks County, shall (as soon as conveniently can be after my decease) be sold by my Executor hereinafter named at public vendue for the best price that can be got for the same, and for that purpose, I do hereby authorize and empower my said Executor, to sign, seal, execute, acknowledge and deliver all such Deed or Deeds of Conveyance as may be requisite and necessary for the granting and assuming the same to the purchaser or purchasers thereof in fee simple, and the proceeds of such sale to be distributed as hereafter mentioned.

Item, I give and bequeath to each of my two grandchildren William Lesher and Caroline Lesher, (children of my deceased daughter Elizabeth, late wife of Solomon H. Lesher) the sum of six hundred dollars, to be paid to them respectively on their arriving at the age of twenty one years (if they are under twenty one years at my decease) and the same to be put at interest at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named, till their arrival respectively at the said age of twenty one years.

And as touching all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, real and personal of whatsoever kind or nature the same may be, I give and devise the same (after deducting necessary expenses and charges) unto my seven children, to wit: Henry, Magdalena, wife of Henry Hollenbach, Catharine Hanckman (widow), John, Daniel, Benjamin, and David F., share and share alike, my executor shall have two hundred dollars, for his compensation as Executor.

And lastly, I nominate, constitute and appoint my said son David F. to be the Executor of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. In witness where of, I, J. Henry Moll, the Testator have to this Will (written on sheet of paper) set my hand and seal, this Ninth day of January A.D. one thousand and eight hundred and fifty-seven.

Signed, Sealed, published and declared by the above named Henry Moll, as and for his last Will and Testament, in the presence of us, who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto, in the presence of the said testator and each other.

On the Seventh day of March A.D. 1865 appeared Samuel Hoffman and Samuel S. Unger the subscribing witnesses to the aforegoing will and being duly sworn according to law, did depose and say that they were present and did see and hear Henry Moll the Testator sign, seal, publish and declare the aforegoing instrument of writing to be his last Will and Testament, and that at the time of the doing thereof he was of sound mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge, observation and belief.
