Last Will and Testament of Henry Hollenbach

In the name of God Amen, I Henry Hollenbach of Perry Township in the County of Berks and State of Pennsylvania, being advanced in years but of sound mind, memory and understanding and considering the uncertainty of this transitory life, do make and publish this, my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at anytime heretofore made, as follows to wit:

First, I order and direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my decease.

Item, It is my will and I do order and direct that a piece of woodland situate in Perry Township, Berks County adjoining land of John Riegel and my other land containing about six acres, shall be appraised by three men chosen by my Executor hereto after named, and that John Riegel may accept the same at the appraisement then it shall be sold by my Executor and distributed as herein after mentioned.

Item, It is my will and I do hereby order and direct that my Executor herein after named, shall as soon as conveniently may be after my decease, sell and dispose of all my personal property, and all my other real estate of whatever kind or nature the same may be, by public sale for such price or prices as my be reasonably gotten for the same. And for that purpose, I do hereby authorize and empower all such deed or deeds of conveyance, as may be requisite and necessary for the granting and approving the same to the purchaser or acceptor thereof in fee simple, and the proceeds of such sale or acceptance and my outstanding monies after payments of debts and expenses, I give and bequeath unto my six children to wit: David Hollenbach; Elias Hollenbach; Mary, the wife of John Riegal; Catherine, the wife of Solomon Lesher, Esther, the wife of Joseph Stump; and Hannah, the wife of Samuel Hepner, to be equally divided among them share and share alike, but the share coming to my daughter Hannah, or so much thereof as may remain unexpended by her after her death, shall be equally divided to and among all her children share and share alike.

And lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my friend Samuel Hoffman of Perry Township to be the Executor of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I, Henry Hollenbach, the testator, have to this my will set my hand and seal, this Twentieth day of May A.D. one thousand eight hundred and seventy one.
