Estate Record for George Kerst

Know all men by these presents that I, Mary Houck, formerly Kerst, and widow and relict of the above named George Kerst, late of Chester County, deceased, for divers good causes and considerations and especially for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar, to me in hand paid by the above named Jonathan Jones at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have revised, released and for ever quit claimed and by these proceeds do revise, release, and forever quit claim, unto the said Jonathan Jones and to his heirs and assigns, all manner of dower and right and title of dower and other interest, right or title whatsoever, which I, the said Mary Houck, now have, may, might, should or of right ought to have or claim of in to or out of all that the above mentioned and described messuage tenement and tract of twenty nine acres of land, granted to the said Jonathan Jones and every part or parcel thereof, with the appurtenances:

And also all manner of action or actions writ or writs of lower, or other actions and right to making distress whatsoever so that neither I, the said Mary Houck, nor any other person or persons whatsoever for me or in my name right or stead any manner of dower or writs of dower or actions, right or title of dower, or other interest claim or demand whatsoever, of or in the said messuage and tract of land hereditaments and premises above mentioned or of any part or parcel thereof, at any time hereafter shall or may have claim or claims against the said Jonathan Jones his heirs or assigns.

I, Frederick Houck, the present husband of the said Mary Houck, do hereby renounce for myself and my heirs all claim to the above mentioned dower signed by my wife Mary Houck.

Be it remembered that on the ninth day of April AD 1827 before me, Evan Evans, one of the Justices of the peace in and for the said county, personally, came the above named Mary Houck and acknowledged the above written indenture of release of dower to be her act and deed and desired that the same might be recorded as such according to law.
