Last Will and Testament of George Clevenstine (1777-1851)

In the name of God, amen, I George Clevenstein of the Township of Robeson in the County of Berks and State of Pennsylvania being in a reasonable state of health and of sound mind and understanding. But considering the uncertainty of this transitory life do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit:

First it is my will and I do so order that all my just debts and Funeral Expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my decease.

Second it is my will that my executors herein named do sell at public sale all my personal Estate or property as soon as conveniently can be after my decease the having it first appraised and as to my real estate it is my will that my executors choose three disinterested men to value and appraise all my real estate and have its sold by public sale without one of my children hereafter mentioned choose to take it at its appraised value which they may the oldest having the first chance and so on to the youngest providing they can pay the rest their shares.

Third it is my will that my daughter Mary intermarried with George Frees is to have two hundred dollars more out of my estate then the rest of my children, that Margaret intermarried with Jacob Wolf and my son John and Abigail intermarried with Daniel Hole the above three shall have share alike with Mary after the above mentioned two hundred dollars is paid her and my daughter Elizabeth is to have no more out of all my estate then fifty cents considering her having her share already.

And lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my son in law George Frees and Jacob Wickline to be my executors of this my last will and testament revoking and hereby annulling all other wills by me heretofore made and declaring this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the sixth day of September one thousand eighteen hundred and forty nine.
