Last Will and Testament of Maria Margaret Diefenbachen

In the name of the Holy Trinity, The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost, amen.

The undersigned Maria Margaret Diefenbachen, daughter of JOHANN PETER ANSPACH, hereby declare the following: nothing being more certain than death, and as we do not know when the Lord will call us beyond, I therefore place myself to or in the will ofLord and should I die I deliver my immortal soul into His care and turn my body to mother earth.

Regarding my property that the Lord has blessed me with and which therefore is truly my own and to prevent my heirs hereafter from quarreling over disposing of same, I hereby, while I am still of sound mind, make my last will and testament and wish it to be unbreakable for all time. My property consists of the following items:

Fifteen pounds of money loaned to my son-in-law, JOHAN ADAM BRAUN, further my child's share of my father's estate from which I gave my son, DAVID, one hundred pounds as a present. I hereby declare that he should share the balance of my property, share alike with the balance of my children. The following is also part of my estate: one cow, one clock, one bed with everything that belongs to it, my clothes and all things that the Lord gave me.

I hereby appoint my friend and neighbor, GENERAL CHRISTIAN BAUER, Executor and Administrator of this my last will and testament and because I cannot sign my name, I have placed my mark between my name below and sealed it this 27th day of April in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and two.

Maria Margaret (X) Diefenbachen
