Last Will and Testament of Benjamin H. Hartman

I Benjamin H. Hartman, of Alsace Township, Berks County, and State of Pennsylvania. Do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament.

First: I order and direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my death.

Second: I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Sarah, for and during her natural life, all my Estate both real, personal and mixed, and after her death I order and direct my hereinafter named Executors to sell my property at public sale, for the best price that can be gotten for the same and to perfect this my intention, I do hereby empower my said executors to give such title deed or deeds to the purchaser or purchasers thereof as well as I myself could do if living, and the proceeds arising from such sale or sales I give and bequeath the same to my seven children; namely Jefferson S. Hartman; Benjamin S. Hartman; Sarah the wife of Amos Moyer; Amelia, the wife of Mahlon Fies; Mary, the wife of Solomon Brown; Elmina, the wife of Augustus Snyder; and Esalinda, the wife of Jefferson K. Griesemer; their heirs and assigns for ever, to be divided amongst them share and share alike.

And Lastly: I nominate constitute and appoint my two sons Jefferson S. Hartman, Benjamin S. Hartman and my son-in-law Jefferson K. Griesemer, to be the Executors of this my Last Will and declaring this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Eleventh day of May A.D. 1889.
