Last Will and Testament of Anthony Adam

1874 Richmond Twp

I, Anthony Adam of Richmond Township in the County of Berks and State of Pennsylvania, Yeoman, being of sound mind memory and understanding, do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at anytime heretofore made. And first. I direct that my body be decently interred and that my hereinafter named executor shall provide a tombstone at a cost of fifty dollars.

Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife such of my personal goods as she may select and such as are not selected by her I direct my hereinafter named executor to sell at public sale and the proceeds there of to be paid over unto my said wife.

Item. I direct my hereinafter named executor to collect all my outstanding bonds, notes and all other kinds of claims and to divide the money arising there from as follows to wit: unto my beloved wife I give the sum of five hundred dollars, the same shall be paid to her three months after my death. The balance I give and bequeath unto my children to wit: Peter Adam, William Adam, Abraham Adam, Juliann wife of Samuel Grosscup, Maria Heffner, Sarah Adam and David Adam and their heirs share and share alike.

And I do hereby constitute and appoint my friend William M Kauffman sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I, Anthony Adam above named have hereunto set my hand and seal this twentieth day of January A.D. one thousand eight hundred and sixty five.

Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Anthony Adam as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names at his request as witnessed thereto in the presence of the said testator and of each other

Registers Office Berks County SS. On the 30th day of October A.D. 1874. Before me H C Croll Register of Wills personally appeared John G Kauffman & J Hagerman the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Will being duly sworn according to Law did dispose and say that they were present and did see and hear Anthony Adam the Testator sign seal publish and declare the foregoing instrument of writing as and for his Last Will and testament that at the time of so doing he was of sound mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge observation and belief.
