Reading and Berks County Pennsylvania: Mirror to the Past

Source: Reading and Berks County Pennsylvania: Mirror to the Past (Collector's Edition), Wyomissing: Wyomissing New Home Federal Savings, undated.

Judy purchased the following booklet from E-bay in June, 2002. Inside there is no copyright or date, only the fact that it was printed by the Wyomissing New Home Federal Savings. On the inside of the back cover is a very small acknowledgement:

This book represents a portion of the extensive collection of postal cards published originally at the turn of the twentieth century. One hundred other scenes from Reading Berks' past were published in two prior volumes of Mirror to the Past by Reading drycleaner Charles J. Adams, Jr. and his son, the journalist Charles J. Adams III.

All postcards in the booklet appear larger than postcard size. Consequently it was necessary to reduce each of them about 25% for display on the page. Each is in the same sepia color. Some are more clear than others. They are very interesting to look through and can give you an idea of what the county was like in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Enjoy!
