Zerbe-Wenrich

The following material was donated to the Berks County Genealogy project by: Bev Albert.

Elizabeth Wenrich Zerbe b- 9-2-1818/ d- 6-3-1901 and her husband, Augustus Zerbe b- 12-15-1810/d- 2-9-1858 both buried at Christ Lutheran Church, Stouchsburg, Pa Berks Co. (Augustus in the old part and Eliz. in the new part with the family of their youngest child Emma Zerbe Stambaugh)

CHILDREN:

  1. Maria: b- 8-15-1837 /bapt. in the Zion Lutheran Church, Womelsdorf sp: Jacob and Kate Zerbe; Maria Zerbe was married to Philip Peiffer, which is listed in Augustus's estate papers. In Elizabeth Wenrich Zerbe's death notice in 1901, this daughter is not listed, so we can assume she had passed away before her mother. I don't know where she is buried. The Philip Peiffer and his wife who are buried at Host Church, Berks County, Pa don't match up. Philip would, as this man was b: 12-12-1835 and died 10-25-1907, BUT he is buried with Mary A. Peifer: b; 2-14-1847; d- 2-20-1923. The wife of Philip Peifer is not Maria Zerbe, UNLESS he remarried after Maria Zerbe died and then the question is: where is Maria Zerbe Peifer buried? More research needed!!
