George Hoffman was the son of John Hoffman. George was born 8/25/1828 in Caernarvon Twnshp PA. He married Lydia Smith, the daughter Daniel Smith and Catherine Lampert, on March 25, 1858. They are both buried at Caernarvon Church in Morgantown, PA.

BIRDSBORO RAILROADER STRICKEN AT THROTTLE." Birdsboro, April 6-Seized with stroke while at the throttle of a locomotive in the Coatesville yards of the Reading Company, Charles F. Buchanan, 49 of 1216 Hay Creek road this borough, died yesterday in the Coatesville Hospital, a short time after being admitted...He was a son of John P. and the late Margaret {Stewart} Buchanan.He was a member of the P. & R. Relief Association.
