Memoranda

Company H, 151st Pa. Volunteers was raised in upper Tulpehoccen and Jefferson townships, Berks County, Pa. and organized at Straustown, Sept 13 1862

The company left Straustown Oct. 1st for Reading, where it remained for seven days and was then ordered to Harrisb’g. Left Harrisburg Nov. 26th for Arlington Heights; thence to Union Mills, where the regiment performed picket duty until Feb. 1863.

The regiment was then joined to the army of the Potomac, and placed in the first brigade third division, first army corps.

Engaged in the battle of Chancellorsville, May 1, 2, 3. The regiment marched from White Oak Church to Gettysburg, a distance of about three hundred miles in nineteen days and went into battle immediately on their arrival. During the three days’ fight at Gettysburg, company II lost six killed and twnety wounded. The regiment left Gettysburg July 6th followed the rebel army to the Potomac. Left the army of the Potomac at Berlin, July 19th for Harrisburg, via. Baltimore, where they were mustered out of service July 27, 1863.
