This site is a part of the USGenWeb and PAGenWeb projects. My name is Bill Klauk, and I have volunteered to be County Coordinator and web site maintainer on a temporary basis. Unfortunately, the site built and maintained by others has been removed from affiliation with USGenWeb and PAGenWeb and I have built this site from scratch. The site has now been active since mid August 2008. We have made a good start, but much remains.

More contributions are needed!

Although I have been County Coordinator for neighboring Erie County for over 8 years, I will continue to seek help from others for this county. I have no genealogy roots with Warren County and minimum knowledge of the county. Please bear with me.

As you may have noted, particularly if you frequently read the "Whats New!" below, much work was done in the first 45 days. I would certainly like to see more contributions from others. Due to other priorities, I do have a small number of contributions yet to post. A special thank you to the three largest contributors to date, Betty Matteson Rhodes, Bimmy Urso, and Mary Anderson!

This is not MY web site - it is YOUR web site. This site will become successful and useful through user contributions. Your generous contributions of information, data, photos, cemetery readings, out of copyright book and article transcriptions, original research and much more is always welcome. If anyone has material to contribute, please let me know, or just go ahead an send it to me as a Microsoft Word document, HTML page, email text or other "text" format as an email attachment. I can not use files submitted in Adobe PDF format. Any photos scanned should be done at 200dpi or better, and the larger the better (I can always shrink). Please save and send to me in .jpg format. Multiple file attachments may be included in each email transmission, but try to limit the total size of the attachments to 600K or under. I have been having problems with attachments in .zip format, so would prefer to receive the raw .jpg file. Please remember that if you scan material containing words and save it as a picture, you should also transcribe the words into a text document. The search engine can not find words in a picture. Please contact me by email if you are not sure about the material, or have other questions about "how to".

A brief word about my research policy. I expect to spend a lot of time in the upkeep of this web site and I do not do personal research. I also do not have information about where to find things, such as vital records. If information is provided to me, it will be posted. I occasionally will have a pet project that might result in a web page, or in some supporting digital photography, but I can not respond to personal requests. Please direct your questions (queries) to the query system (currently using Rootsweb Message Board), and/or to the PAWarren-L mail list.

My goal is to make this web site a premier location for Internet research in Warren County, Pennsylvania. Questions and/or information about the site (but not research questions) may be directed to me - Bill Klauk - at WrnCoPAGen@att.net.

WE WILL NEED YOUR HELP! We will need people to be listed as township helpers - little work is involved as you only need to be a filter or point of contact for people looking for specific township information. You do not have to live in the area to be a township helper, but it does help to have some knowledge of the township. I am currently looking for help for all townships, except Columbus. If you have an interest in ANY township, let me know. Send your name to Bill Klauk if you are interested.
