(ANCESTOR) Davidson
(YEAR) 1904
(LOCATION) Carbon County, Lansford, Pa
(QUERY) June of 1997 you posted a query for "DAVIDSON" on my behalf. If it is not a problem, could you please change one thing. I stated that Robert was one of 14 children, 10 of whom survived....but I should have indicated "11" of whom survived. If this is too much of an inconvenience, please don't worry about it. Thank you, Deb

(ANCESTOR) GAUMER (GORMER), Augustus
(YEAR) 1820
(LOCATION) Mauch Chunk, Carbon County, PA
(QUERY) GORMER families listed in the 1870 census in Mauch Chunk. Augustus was a 54 year old RR check master born in PA wife, Rebecca ???? (age 50) also born PA.. They had three children. The oldest Alfred (29) was married and working as a locomotive eng. at the time. He and his wife Mary "Polly" EBERT had three children under the age of 5 - Rebecca, Augustus and Hattie. Two sisters Henrietta (17) and Eur(n)illa (13) were at home. Does anyone know this family? I can not place them in any census before or after this one. Story has it that Mary died young and Alfred was scalded to death by an engine. Their three children were raised by an unrelated family. What happen to the grandparents and aunts?? Nay ideas on how I might find the answers to these and other questions.
