History of Allegheny county, Pennsylvania, Part II  by Thomas Cushing Chicago, Ill.:  A. Warner & Co., 1889, pp. 191-192.

Chapter XVIII

Osborn Borough

This borough was formed from the western part of Aleppo March 10, 1883, after a legal contest, in the course of which the authority of the supreme court was invoked. The population is smaller than that of any other borough in the county. It adjoins Sewickley on the west, and in common with that place it is made up almost entirely of suburban residences.
